5 Tips for Exhibitors for Event Tech Live
We recently attended the Event Tech Live Exhibitor Training Day, hosted by Lee Ali of Expo Stars Interactive. The day was filled with valuable insights and tips on how to make the most out of exhibitor participation at the upcoming event - it is under 8 weeks away in case you hadn't noticed!
Here are some of the tips we learned or were reminded of, that we want to share with all exhibitors, to help you make the most out of exhibiting at Event Tech Live.
1. Trade Show Engagement Optimization (TEO): Just like SEO, optimise your trade show engagement to generate more business. As Lee says, "your exhibition booth is your shop window" so you need to ensure you're set up to demonstrate your expertise, and how you're going to capture those leads that subsequently come flooding in.
2. Define Your Objectives: Why are you exhibiting? Are you there to meet clients, showcase your tech, increase brand presence, network, hire, or test the market? Knowing your objectives will help shape your strategy.
3. Understand Your Attendee Journey: Who is your target audience? What are their pain points and aspirations? How will you engage them, and what impression do you want them to leave with? Understanding the attendee journey is key to effective engagement.
4. Booth Staffing Matters: Believe it or not, 85% of your exhibition success is down to your booth staff. Their training, roles, schedule, and individual objectives all play a part in your overall success. Make sure they're well-prepared and that different personality types are catered for. Lee led an incredibly useful workshop at the training day, all about this - I encourage you to reach out to him if you want to do this with your exhibiting teams.
5. Lead Potential: Not everyone in the exhibition hall will be a potential lead. In fact, only about 3% will be sales qualified leads (SQL), while 67% will be marketing qualified leads (MQL). Recognize this and focus your efforts accordingly.
Never Stop Learning: Even after 20 years in the game, I still learn something new at every exhibition and am reminded of some of the important elements that help make up a great booth.
Stay open to learning and continually refine your approach.
Remember, successful exhibiting requires careful planning, understanding your audience, and effective engagement strategies.
We look forward to seeing y'all at Event Tech Live 2023 (If you haven’t yet registered, you can do so here.)
