Our Social Responsibility Promise represents our unwavering commitment to our environment and community.
As our HQ is situated on the coast with the sea in front of us and a national park behind us, our playground is around us every day - and we aim to do what we can to protect, conserve and enjoy it.
We believe that we have a collective responsibility for everything that exists around us - it's not just about cleaning our beaches and ensuring we operate sustainably, but it's about nurturing deep-rooted respect and love for all aspects of our environment from everyone in our community and, our clients too.
Our Initiatives
Our responsibility goals are brought to life through various hands-on initiatives aimed at educating and engaging our community.
Initiative 1: Forest School Education
We're investing in the education of our youngsters through voluntary forest school programs at local schools. By teaching them about the environment in a fun, hands-on way, we're helping to cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards as well as increase their learning and respect for our local environment.
Initiative 2: Surf Life-Saving Coaching
Founder of Waves Connects, Matt Coyne, is chair of the charity Saltdean Swim & Surf Club, which focuses on coaching youths in surf life-saving activities. These programs instil a healthy respect for our ocean environment and teach valuable life skills while they learn a fun, healthy respect for the sea and its environment.
Initiative 3: Pick up 10
Every time we head outside, we encourage our friends, family and colleagues to "Pick Up Ten" pieces of rubbish. It is a practical way to engage our events community in environmental stewardship. Collect rubbish from beaches and the South Downs in our local area we aim to help raise awareness of the damage waste can do, especially when it then heads into our oceans. #Pickup10
Initiative 4: Blue travel
Whilst we wish we could swim everywhere, we know that’s not possible in a days work. Our aim is to travel as environmentally as possible to any event we attend. Understanding it is not always possible, our focus is on green travel where possible and then supporting local businesses in the areas we visit.

We're not just focused on one aspect of the environment; rather, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change across all areas of our community and beyond to help protect our blue earth - our oceans - the waves that drive us.
The goal of our social responsibility promise, is about building a lasting legacy of sustainability that will benefit generations to come.
Waves Connects - it's in our DNA. It's our company name. We believe waves connect all of us, and our Blue Earth Promise is a way for us to do our bit in protecting the planet we love - for ourselves and for generations to come.
