Over the course of two days, Matt hosted 11 sessions with companies on stage such as Slack, Informa Exhibitions, Skift Meetings, and Bloomberg to thousands of both online and in-person attendees.
The Brief
Event Tech Live was moving from its previous venue (the Truman Brewery) to ExCeL London and with the organizing team already having to manage several changes and ensure all of their exhibitors, sponsors and attendees were ready for the move, they didn't want to risk their stage host adding any more pressure or stress.
They quickly agreed that Matt from Waves Connects, whose previous experience of delivering to large event and conference audiences, knowledge of event tech, and high-energy delivery, made him the perfect choice for what they wanted.
The Planning
It's often underestimated the amount of research and planning that goes into event hosting.
From Matt's initial consultation with Event Tech Live to the final delivery of the main stage sessions, he worked tirelessly to ensure all sessions were introduced correctly, engaging with the audience by facilitating on and offline Q&A sessions and working with the stage support teams to ensure everything went smoothly.
Arriving on the day of build, Matt quickly got to grips with the event layout, format of proceedings and familiarised himself with the technology in use and key messages or brands that were sponsoring the main stage.
The Result
All event sessions went off without a hitch.
