How do I get through this?

A question many of us have asked ourselves throughout this pandemic I’m sure.

In this episode, we have an open and honest conversation with long time industry pal Miriam Sigler from Ways and Means.

If there was one person in this industry that I would turn to and say - "her over there, she's one of the most merriest of people in this sector that I've ever met"  I would be completely shocked to hear that she found it difficult too. I was shocked. I had to record her story to see how she got through it.

We talk to Miriam about the tough times and how she coped not seeing people - the life and blood of our industry.

Three things I took from this episode:

  • Celebrate success. Even if it's not yours and may be someone you don't know, celebrate the achievements. In a time when we hear of so much awful news, it's great to see some positivity. It really helps drive us forward.

  • Do just one thing. If you're really struggling to get through the long days and nights, wake up in the morning and do one thing. Make your bed. Those micro achievements will help us to get through this.

  • Lean on your network. We've talked about this on a number of episodes, but there are many many people in our industry offering help. Accept it if you need it. There are many willing ears to listen to you and those in the industry know how you're really feeling. We all feel it and at the moment we're all in it together. Lets help each other get out of it too.

Miriam was a fantastic guest and I'm so pleased she now can add "podcast superstar" to her repertoire of tricks.

You can find out more about Miriam on her Ways&Means website

We also talked about AEO Project Confidence and Eventwell which both have great resources in how you can help the industry and each other now.
